The Manufacturing Engineering team will deliver significant improvements in manufacturing capability across the Residential Heating and Electronic Radiator Control manufacturing site, using Excellence in Design for Manufacturing principles enabling our products to be manufactured to defined standards and cost by Autonomous Teams. Adjustable and flexible Engineer for a fast paced production environment Involved throughout the product lifecycle from the initial stages of new product development to final delivery of quality product, the Manufacturing Engineer will provide a cohesive service enabling a seamless transition of product from conception to sustainable production. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be expected to drive a continuous improvement mindset and use relevant engineering methodologies to implement control measures and improvements which allow legacy products to be manufactured reliably, raising levels of customer satisfaction and overall profitability. Among your areas of responsibilities will be: Provide a rapid response to issues affecting the production line, utilizing a systematic problem-solving approach to maintain a smooth production flow. NPI-work in conjunction with Local and Group R&D teams to define and deliver against work packages to ensure products are designed in line with manufacturing capability. Identify areas for improvement of manufacturing capability, developing new manufacturing methods and associated equipment. Design and manage production line layout to enable efficient and reliable manufacture by autonomous manufacturing teams. Ensure manufacturing methods are reliable and controlled to deliver on yield and cost requirements. Using Lean Six Sigma tools to continually improve the production line to eliminate waste and reduce process variation. Coach, develop and provide engineering advice to technical and operating manufacturing staff. Build effective relationships with the manufacturing team, line engineers and maintenance engineers. Implement control measures and improvements which allow legacy products to be manufactured reliably. The successful candidate for the position; Has an Electrical/Electronic Engineering background and preferably a couple of years of experience from a dynamic working environment with changing agendas and tasks. You are willing to learn, not afraid to get your hands dirty, but still have the capability to work on a strategic level. You could be holding a Production Engineering position today, wanting to take the next step into Manufacturing Engineering.
