Socialwork 2000 are looking for an Advanced Social Worker to join a Youth Offending Team based in Bedford, Bedfordshire. Pay rate: £32ph About the team: BYOS is part of the Youth Justice System developed by the Home Office and overseen by the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. The Youth Justice System also includes Youth Courts and the institutions in which young people are held in custody, if that is judged necessary. The aim of the Youth Justice Board is to prevent offending by children and young people. It delivers this by: preventing crime and the fear of crime identifying and dealing with young offenders reducing reoffending About the role: Bedford Borough Council are currently looking for an Advanced Social Worker to join their multi-agency team for their Youth Justice Department. The role is critical to the delivery of service in respect of supervising young people subject to Court Orders. Pay rate £32ph Candidate will need to be experienced in work with challenging young people and families, preferably in a Youth Offending setting. You will work with young people subject to bail supervision and secure remand, hold a targeted caseload and contribute to delivery of group work programmes. The work is varied and will require the post-holder to work unsocial hours and some weekends.
