Job Purpose To identify and develop new business opportunities for the company within: aerospace design and modifications, aerospace & motorsport & aircraft maintenance. To be responsible for digital marketing activities, marketing events, identifying new leads/opportunities and converting them into orders in line with sales targets. To utilise creative measures to expand the turnover and commercial returns of the company through growth of the chosen product & service sectors Principal Accountabilities - Develop and propose new marketing and sales strategies relevant to identified market sectors. - Develop and implement a marketing plan relevant to chosen sectors in order to generate new leads/opportunities, whilst capitalising on company strengths and perceived brand value. - Interact with other resources within the business groups to effect necessary support and technical content / costings for new bids. - Initiate and follow through successful negotiation of terms with customers to arrive at formal contractual positions. - To undertake and report on industry trends / competitor analysis in support of the company business strategies. - To plan and implement all social media activity with the companies external marketing agency. - To plan and implement marketing / PR initiatives Business Development Executive / Technical Sales Key Competencies - Technical Understanding - Overall understanding of aeronautical engineering principles and their application to practical product solutions. - Ability to use technical understanding to impress customers with company capability. - Ability to use technical understanding to build effective team working within the company. - Understanding and experience in exploiting digital and social media for sales success. Business Development Executive / Technical Sales Qualifications - Degree or equivalent in Aerospace or Technology related discipline. Knowledge and Experience - A proven and developing record in sales within a technology, or aerospace environment: military or commercial. - Experience of both product and service sales. - Experience of aerospace and/or motorsport simulation markets - Experience of working closely with customers on new ideas / concepts associated with new programmes. - Experience of effective communication at senior level both within the organisation and with customers. Skills and Personal Qualities - Must be a driven individual with a hunger for closing sales. - Must have gravitas and stature within the defence and aerospace community. - Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, e-mail, telephone, and presentation. - High competency level in IT for producing presentation / proposal information to customers and costs / price build-ups. - Competent in use of Sales CRM tools - currently Pipedrive - Excellent time, planning, and project management skills. - Highly affable and charm based approach to personal relationships with middle / senior level people in aerospace business. - Ability to negotiate with people without undermining positive relations. - To be able to successfully work on own initiative. - Ability to handle demands, targets, deadlines in a stressful environment. - To be a natural networker in support of business acquisition. - Strong ability to pay very close attention to detail. - Ability to cope with competing demands and prioritise tasks on a regular basis.
