Location: Leighton Buzzard

Salary: £15,825 - £19,479

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 37 hours per week

Reports To: Head of Student Services

This vacancy has arisen within the Student Services Department to provide a professional front of house service to all visitors, students and staff.

Main purpose of the Role

You will provide flexible administrative and professional services, ensuring a highly professional first line response to all stakeholders. You will provide accurate and comprehensive initial information and advice whilst working closely with learning area teams on up-to-date information. You will be a key player in delivering excellence throughout all stages of the learner journey and you will provide a flexible set of generic services across the range of our learners. To ensure that all learners and internal and external customers receive excellent customer care from all staff within the learning resource centre/welfare team/enquiries team and admissions and enrolments.

Your main duties will include:

  • receiving visitors, staff and students
  • providing initial information regarding course information and availability including location of courses,
  • answering any enquiries received
  • incoming and outgoing post,
  • assisting students with the completion of any letters or forms that they may need to complete whilst at college,
  • processing enrolment forms and taking course fees
  • work across a range of services

The successful candidate must be flexible, computer literate, with a working knowledge of current office software packages. They must be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise their workload and be able to use their own initiative. They must be able to work independently as the post will require evening and weekends to meet the needs of the College. They should be adaptable, able to deal with more than one task at a time and enjoy working in a front facing customer environment. They must be committed to working as part of a support service for students so experience within a customer service support is required.
