This company is a privately held British software development company focused on geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping software, with a broad portfolio of products, a wide range of UK and international partners, and a diverse user base.

Working on their flagship Web Map Layers product and other application development projects, you will be reporting to the application development manager, and based in their head office in Stevenage.

Their applications provide web frontends to their spatial server product, GeognoSIS.
You will be expected to work on all aspects of current and future developments, including interface design and implementation, server and client side logic and functionality as well as cross-cutting technologies.

You will work within an established development team and will be able to contribute towards the design and the implementation of new functionality within the applications.
Capable of writing clear and efficient code, you will be involved in all aspects of the software development, delivery cycle and some project work.

The opportunity is available to develop in both MVC ASP.NET Core framework and ASP.NET.

Skills required include:

- Development using MVC and C#
- Expert knowledge of core front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Experience of developing server side components (.NET using C#)
- Understanding and use of RESTful API
- Ability to write high-performance, reusable code

Other skills which would provide an advantage are:

- ASP.NET application development
- Familiarity with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery
- Use of Visual Studio 2015 onwards
- Data Access Technologies (Entity Framework, Dapper)
- Experience with JavaScript mapping libraries such as Leaflet, OpenLayers and Google Maps
- Knowledge of version control systems
- Understanding and use of databases and web services
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skill

Ideally you will have at least two years experience in a similar role, however training will be provided as appropriate.
