Purpose of the Function

The SAP Technical Solution Architect will be required to solve complex customer challenges, develop customer roadmaps and concepts as well as transition customer's SAP estates into state-of-the-art solutions by working from the customer's strategy (business, organisation and IT) downwards to build a roadmap for the SAP S/4 HANA landscape which fits that strategy and is therefore directly relevant for the customerLead and support SAP S/4 HANA deployments for existing customers as well as prospects in UK, Nordics and Netherlands; including integration, transformation, green-field implementation and cloud transition project

Key Accountabilities

Work closely with our Sales organization to support any SAP opportunities including early customer engagement through Discovery workshops where appropriate and any subsequent RFI/RFP responsesProvide thought leadership on SAP solutions and possess a thorough understanding strategies, architectures and roadmaps for customersLead business and technical workshops and discovery sessions at senior management level to help drive SAP's broader solution value and strategy. Provide leadership and mentoring to T-Systems solution specialists to help them establish competency in how to deliver solution architecture sessions and roadmaps to customersStay current on the architecture, customer successes, and value proposition across SAP's entire solution portfolio with deep architecture specializationPresent and position the broader vision and value of SAP's portfolio in alignment with T-Systems' SAP portfolio roadmap and platforms to ensure solutions are developed and delivered within agreed standards and capabilitiesLead the solution architecture strategy and presentation of recommendations to customers at senior management levelProvide full life-cycle support as a trusted advisor to customer senior managers allowing them to become proactively aware of relevant new innovations and M&A activity to ensure that they can be rapidly adopted to provide the new capabilities needed to meet their business challenges

The role will require production and delivery of SAP Solution Architecture presentations and proposals (slides or whiteboard) to customer senior managersDeliver executive briefings to help articulate how T-Systems can support SAP's overall portfolio value proposition and strategy Provide advice and guidance on SAP/T-Systems architecture solutions at customer eventsExperience of working in global, multi-stream SAP enabled transformation programmes, containing challenging business process design, information strategy elements as well as implementation of change management aspects

Experience and Qualifications

Extensive knowledge and practical experience with SAP architecture and technical integration of relevant applicationsExperience with large new customers and new business, opportunity assessment, RFP processing and business developmentEnterprise Architecture certification (TOGAF 9/SAP A200) beneficial but not essential (training will be provided)SAP Technical/HANA certification beneficial but not essential

Technical Know-How

In-depth knowledge and experience in working with technologies such as virtualization, cloud computing, managed computing, storage, backup and databasesOutstanding ability to independently analyse and structure technical requirementsUnderstanding of SAP's product strategy and roadmap, including positioning of S/4 HANA and enabling tools and complementary technologies;Deep understanding of SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver architecture and related SAP products as well as interfaces with other related systems and underlying database technologies;Knowledge of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC) and HANA Cloud Platform (HCP) would have an added advantageUnderstanding of, and experience with migration concepts and tools such as SUM, including DMO and ZDO;Experienced with SAP, including underlying infrastructure requirements, implementation and operations for traditional SAP NetWeaver based solutions (both ABAP & JAVA such as Portal, ERP, PI/PO, SSO) and SAP HANA (such as Suite on HANA, BW on HANA, S/4)Experience in managing a complex SAP landscape/environment that supports core business functions (e.g. finance, procurement, customer relationship management) in accordance with SAP and industry best practices;Be familiar with technical testing (system admin, failure scenarios, disaster recovery, performance stress testing) as well as SAP security methodology
