Job Title: Claims Handler

Location: Linford Wood, Milton Keynes

Salary: £19,700 - £26,800 (depending on experience)

Contract: Permanent

The company is a not-for-profit industry body based in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. Their role is to reduce uninsured driving; assist and compensate victims of uninsured and untraced driving; and manage insurance data on behalf of the industry.

They are looking to recruit Experienced Claims Handlers to join their Customer Services team, in Milton Keynes. You will be joining a high profile area of the business that handles over 20,000 claims against uninsured and untraced motorists every year.

These roles will report to the Claims Team Manager and the job holders will be responsible for the delivery of a positive customer experience by communicating with the company's stakeholders in a helpful, proactive, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling and settling uninsured and untraced claims made upon the Bureau promptly and fairly
  • To process work chronologically and/or in order of priority, and to help out other claims handlers to ensure that this is achieved when necessary
  • To deal with all aspects of claims handling including letter writing, telephone contact, diary management, valuation, negotiation and settlement of the following types of claim / loss:

  • Loss or damage to property
  • Minor injury
  • Straightforward heads of claim
  • Straightforward Liability Issues
  • Costs - predictable scheme

    • To act within set handling authorities as defined by the Claims Authorities Matrix

    Key Requirements:

    The successful candidate must already have or be willing to work towards a qualification as a minimum of QCF level 3 (this equates to 2 pass grades in A levels, CII Level 3 Certificate or NVQ Level 3)
